How to enable Dual Sim Dual standby in Pixel phones

Google Pixel devices are getting the much awaited dual sim dual standby support finally. Google Pixel even though the best camera smart phone one thing it misses out is its lack of dual sim support.

Even Apple with latest Iphone have launched e-sim with its latest Iphones which allows users to use one virtual sim and a physical sim,.

We will see  whats is E-sim  and how to enable dual sim support in Pixel phones.

What is E-sim:

An eSIM is an electronic SIM card. As the name suggests, it will replace the physical, plastic SIM card all current smartphones use with a virtual embedded equivalent that cannot be removed.

Dual Sim support in Pixel Devices:

Google started supporting e-sim feature on the pixel 2 devices the same was carried on to Pixel 3 and Pixel 3XL.
It was only Dual sim,single standby (DSSS) but with the latest beta release of unnamed android Q Beta 2, Google
finally brings Dual sim Dual support for Pixel 3 devices.

This was a mere surprise to all the Pixel fans,as its one of the favorite features for which Pixel users are waiting for.
Even-though the E-sim feature was already present in Pixel 3 but it was not enabled for the users. With Android Q beta 2 update Pixel 3
users can provision/register both their e-sim and physical card at the same time.

Currently Pixel 3 support only Dual sim Dual standby (DSDS) and not Dual sim dual active(DSDA)which means mobile data cant be used in both the sims at the same time.

How to enable Dual sim Dual standby on pixel 3:

Make sure you are running on latest Os- Android Q Beta -2

Step 1: Open settings on your Pixel 3

Step 2: Go to network and Internet

Step 3: Click on the + symbol next to mobile network and Add the second operator.

Step 4: You will get pop up to enable DSDS and to restart your mobile click ok.

Step 5: Dual sim is enabled on your Pixel phones now.

Most interestingly, this enables users with a granular control over preferred sim for call and messages.
Users are notified on which sim they are getting the calls and on which one need to make the call.

Once can expect Dual Sim dual active technology to be adopted in the upcoming Pixel 4 smartphone.
