Lenovo Z5 is launched at a killer price, But why it’s still a disappointment

If you follow the recent gadgets news closely, you can see everywhere about the upcoming Lenovo Z5 device. This device has got such a hype before even launch. Everyone was expecting a flagship device from Lenovo. ZUK is the last high end device Lenovo has launched and everyone thought Z5 may be the successor of ZUK.

But Lenovo made Z5 as one more mid range device it it’s list which comes as a great shock. Though the specs sheet looks great for a mid range device and pricing was perfect, All the gadget freaks who were expecting a different level of Premium device from Lenovo are really really disappointed.

We’re sorry to disappint you, Most of the Rumours are false. Lenovo z5 isn’t a beezel less. device. It does comes with a notch and it does not have 4 TB storage nor 5000 mAh battery.

Lenovo Z5 sports with a 6.2-inch full-HD+ IPS LCD screen (1080×2246 pixels)  with aspect ratio of 18.7:9 and 2.5D curved glass on top. One good news is it has 90% screen to body ratio.

The smartphone has aluminium body with glass back. Lenovo claims the bottom bezel of the phone is 7.69mm which is about 0.7mm thinner than that of the Mi 8. The back glass is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

Z5 is powered with Octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC chipset with Adreno GPU. Device has 6GB of RAM and comes with two variants – 64 and 128 GB internal storage (Both variants have same 6 GB RAM).

The smartphone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo based ZUI 4.0 and supports dual nano SIM.  Lenovo Z5 has Micro SD card slot as well as 3.5 mm head phone jack.

Lenovo Z5 also has the dual camera setup at the back with 16 MP + 8 MP combo. At the launch, Lenovo compared it’s camera with the iPhone X and claims that Z5 is having better wide-angle capability. Lenovo added AI feature for taking better low light shots.

The device has  8 MP selfie camera which is also backed by AI for enhancing low light photos. Camera has HDR+ support, with True3D and 4K recording.

The phone comes with 3300mAh battery and supports fast charging. and With18W fast charging power supply the company claims that just 5 minutes of charge is more enough for half an hour use.

Price and Availability:

There are no official news about the price and availablity date of the smartphone in India.

The company has set the orice tag of Lenovo Z5 in China at CNY 1,399 ( approx. Rs. 14,700) for the 6GB RAM/ 64GB variant and CNY 1,799 (approx. Rs. 18,900) for the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant. The smartphone will be available for pre-orders from 10am on June 12 in China.
