Andy Rubin, the co-founder of Android introduced “Essential Phone PH-1” – a first beezel-less flagship with a tiny circular notch at the top last year. This beezel-less display was an immediate hit. The top smartphone manufacturers like Apple, Samsung , LG adopted this design to their flagships.

Essential Phone Ph-1 is the first to introduce the notch and Apple later adopted the same in iphone X.

What we know:

Source says that Andy Rubin’s Essential phone PH-1 is rumoured to launch in India before April with the price less than INR 30,000. Sources cities an insider hints that device might be priced at Rs. 24,000. PH-1 is one of the best flagship smartphone of 2017, we’ll see the specification below to understand why this is a killer deal for this price.

  • Body: Front – Glass , back – ceramic . frame – titanium
  • Display: LTPS IPS LCD
  • Size: 5.71 inches with 84.9% body to screen ratio
  • Resolution : 1312 x 2560 pixels
  • Single Nano Sim with no memory card slot
  • Octa-core Snapdragon 835
  • GPU: 540
  • 4 GB RAM
  • 128 GB memory in the board

This phone was actually launched at mid 2017, which took almost 1 year to reach India. This might be a drawback for the smartphone in Indian market, as customers who are going for flagship phones will prefer the latest phone. But at the price of Rs. 24,000, this is abosolutely a gem which is worth for the penny. Though the phone is almost 1 year old, This phone actually set the trade mark of beezel-less display and the top notch which few top smartphone manufacturers are yet to adopt.

So at the rumored price, the smart phone is really a killer deal which will attract mid-range smart phones customers as well. But service centre will be one of the challenge for the new manufacturers. Will PH-1 cross the hurdles and join the race? We’ll see shortly.
